Part of Christian development is making a mature and public affirmation of faith and commitment to the responsibilities of Baptism and to receive the laying on of hands by the bishop. This is called confirmation.
Confirmation involves coming before the bishop, and publicly stating our faith. In baptism we join the community; we are received into the “household of God.” Confirmation marks the occasion when we decide to commit to the Christian community. This decision is acknowledged by the church, set aside as special and holy, by the rite of confirmation.
Confirmations are scheduled during a Bishop’s Visitation, approximately once every two years. Youth are also able to take part in a regional confirmation class. For more information, please contact Father Jeff.
